Information Session: Do you wanna docent?

Thursday, January 9, 2025 • 5–6 PM (PST) • Online

Ever wanted to docent but never knew where to start? Well, you’re in luck! Join us for a guided introduction into docenting as we explore selected pieces of our current exhibitions. AMOCA’s Education Manager Chinelo Ufondu will guide the discussion, offering insights and facilitating meaningful conversations.

The information session will introduce attendees to program staff, briefly describe the docenting program, and share about current exhibitions. There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the session.

Registered attendees will be given free admission to the museum Saturday, January 11 to observe the Second Saturday tour of Architectural Pottery from 2-3pm.

AMOCA’s Docent Program

Docents are trained volunteers who give educational exhibition tours to school children, clubs, or special interest groups. AMOCA is recruiting individuals who are eager to work with people, who are community-minded, and who are interested in the benefits of life-long learning. You can make a world of a difference in meeting our mission, and get a sense of satisfaction from knowing you are doing something worthwhile for someone else. Learn more on our Docent page.

Can’t attend the January 9 information session, but interested in volunteering at AMOCA? Fill out our online Volunteer Application.

If you have questions, email Chinelo at education@amoca.org or call (909) 865-3146.
