Breana Ferreira

Breana Ferreira (she/her) was born and raised in Southern California and received her BFA in Ceramics last spring from the University of North Texas. Her focus is on the integration of clay with a variety of 2-dimensional art practices to capture the tangled natural and industrial aspects of everyday life. The curated chaos embodied in her work exists as a personal record of the daily joys, anxieties, and mundanities of living. Breana has been working with clay here at AMOCA as a long-term resident artist since September of 2022 and will be moving forward in the field as a long-term resident artist and educator of the Lillstreet Art Center based in Chicago.

AMOCA’s Residency Program

AMOCA’s Artist in Residence Program, established in 2012, is one of the few long-term fellowship opportunities for ceramic artists on the West Coast. This residency provides artists an opportunity to produce or develop a new body of work. The program is funded through generous support from Julianne and David Armstrong, Laguna Clay, and the Windgate Foundation. Since 2022, thanks to enhanced support from the Windgate Foundation, additional short-term residencies are available for artists based in Southern California.
