(California, June 15, 2022)—The American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA) and The School of Arts + Enterprise (SAE) announce a multi-year strategic partnership. The two organizations will join forces to provide compelling artistic experiences for the next generation of ceramic artists and museum professionals, and will align the efforts of two of Pomona’s premiere artistic organizations.

Beth Ann Gerstein, Executive Director of AMOCA, commented: “AMOCA’s partnership with the SAE is a natural and exciting extension of our growing collaboration. The SAE’s commitment to equity and opportunity for all students fulfills a key component of AMOCA’s mission to engage with our local community, encouraging artistic access and opportunity. We are pleased to welcome SAE students, staff, and families as they participate in museum events and programming, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership.”

Jon Gundry, Executive Director of The SAE, said: “We’ve had great success collaborating with AMOCA in the past, and we’re excited to see what this new, formal partnership will bring. The energy of our campus, combined with the expertise at AMOCA, is sure to result in vibrant and lasting effects that will benefit our students, our campus, and our community.”

Key features of this strategic partnership include:

  • Free admission to AMOCA for SAE students, staff members, and families
  • SAE classes for students in the AMOCA Studio, as well as the launch of The AMOCA + SAE Ceramic Art Dual Major
  • Annual SAE + AMOCA Day, designed to welcome and offer behind-the-scenes museum opportunities to SAE students, staff, and families

The American Museum of Ceramic Art champions the art, history, creation, and technology of ceramics through exhibitions, collections, outreach, and  studio programming. AMOCA is a vanguard for recognizing the place of ceramics in the visual arts community, an organization dedicated to the promotion of equitable access to the arts, and an important participant in the economic revival of the Pomona Valley.

The School of Arts + Enterprise is a tuition-free Public Charter High School serving grades 6-12. Located in The Downtown Pomona Arts Colony, the SAE embraces and encourages artistic creativity and academic excellence. For more than 17 years, the SAE has nurtured the passions and dreams of students through a foundation of knowledge, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
